Wheat, Corn, Soybean Inspections Continue Ahead of Last Year

Total corn export inspections are up 27% from last year. Soybean inspections are 21% higher than last year. Wheat inspections are 34% higher than last year.

OMAHA (DTN) — USDA released its weekly Export Inspections report Monday for the week ended Dec. 19. Total corn inspections were 44.2 million bushels (mb). Soybean inspections totaled 64.2 mb. Wheat inspections were 14.8 mb.

Corn inspections totaled 44.2 mb for the week ended Thursday, Dec. 19, 2024. Total inspections in 2024-25 are now at 568 mb, up 27% from the previous year. USDA is estimating corn exports at 2.475 billion bushels (bb) in 2024-25, up 8% from the previous year. Corn inspections in 2024-25 are running well above USDA’s estimated pace at a time when USDA’s estimate of corn ending stocks is the second highest in five years.

Soybean inspections totaled 64.2 mb for the week ended Dec. 19. Total inspections in 2024-25 are now at 992 mb, up 21% from the previous year. USDA is estimating soybean exports at 1.825 bb in 2024-25, up 8% from the previous year. Soybean inspections in 2024-25 are running ahead of USDA’s estimated pace at a time when USDA’s estimate of soybean ending stocks is the highest in five years.

Wheat inspections totaled 14.8 mb for the week ended Dec. 19. Total wheat inspections in 2024-25 are now at 439 mb, up 34% from the previous year. USDA is estimating wheat exports at 850 mb in 2024-25, up 20% from the previous year. Wheat inspections in 2024-25 are running well above USDA’s estimated pace at a time when USDA’s estimate of wheat ending stocks is the highest in four years.
