In the West, low/medium heat and high heat nonfat dry milk (NDM) prices moved 
higher on both the bottom and top of the range and in the mostly price series. 
Milk volumes continue to rebound as declining temperatures and improved cow 
comfort keep dryers full. Some manufacturers report they are behind on low heat 
production but are sold out through October on high heat. Manufacturers also 
note increasing demand from the Midwest and East Coast, with buyers reaching 
out to Western manufacturers for NDM. Production schedules remain robust as 
some manufacturers allocate more dryer time to NDM rather than skim milk 
powder. Sellers describe demand from domestic and international buyers as 
energetic, while traders seeking spot loads report extremely limited 
availability.
