Butter prices decreased across the full range this reporting period. Processor 
prices also moved lower compared to last month and are down 30 percent 
year-over-year. The futures curve strengthened for September, January, and 
February, held steady for November and December, and was lower for October. A 
major New Zealand dairy cooperative increased it's 12-month butter volume 
forecast by 2,000 metric tons (MT) to 44,735 MT.At Global Dairy Trade (GDT) 
Event 410, butter prices decreased for all contract periods by as much as 2.6 
percent for the November contract. No butter was offered for January or 
February. October and November accounted for 77 percent of total sales. Butter 
volume sold increased compared to Event 409 but was lower than a year ago. 
North Asia led purchasing at 71 percent, followed by Southeast Asia/Oceania and 
Europe.

Recently released New Zealand export data indicates July 2026 butter export 
volumes were 22,607 MT, an increase of 6.8 percent from the year prior. Export 
volumes of butter from January-July 2026 were 179,044 MT, up 12 percent from a 
year earlier.At GDT Event 410, the average butter price index across all 
contract periods decreased to $5,090/MT, down 2.0 percent from the previous 
event. The September contract averaged $4,830/MT, declining 1.3 percent.
