Nonfat Dry Milk - East and Central U.S.

Released on August 27, 2026

Low/medium heat nonfat dry milk (NDM) prices moved slightly higher this week in
the Central and East regions, increasing by 1 cent at the upper and lower ends
of the range. The mostly price series also increased this week. This marks the
third consecutive weekly increase, but market conditions appear to be
stabilizing. From week 32 through week 34, Grade A NDM weekly average prices on
the CME increased 22 cents. Industry contacts report that production remains
constrained as more milk is being diverted to Class I bottlers in preparation
for the school year, reducing volumes available for drying operations. Contacts
also indicate that demand for NDM has strengthened in recent weeks, driven in
part by increased interest in low/medium heat NDM for calf milk replacer. High
heat NDM prices likewise increased at both ends of the range this week. Market
participants note high heat NDM continues to be difficult to source on the spot
market, with supply and demand both limited.
