FEEDER CATTLE 1586 1920 1589
Compared to two weeks ago, feeder steers and heifers sold sharply lower on the
day. Some comparable weights 20.00 lower. Demand was mostly moderate. A lot of
negative news in the cattle sector the last two weeks adding downward pressure
to Wednesday market. The auctioneer chant a tick slower as they had to break
the bids down to 1.00 and a lot of bids came in at .50 instead of the 2.50 to
5.00 bids a few weeks ago. Also, the feedlots traded live slaughter steers and
heifers 7.00 to 8.00 lower at 218.00 and dressed sales sold 10.00 to 11.00
lower at mostly 345.00. With the feedlots trading in the red, most prospective
buyers backed up their live auction bids. The video sale on Wednesday was good
