Butter - Central U.S.

Released on August 26, 2026

Milk production is trending higher across the Central region. Contacts report
increased spot milk availability, attributed to cooler seasonal temperatures
and downtime at processing facilities. Class I processors continue to secure
spot milk loads in preparation for the upcoming school year. Cream supply is
steady, with spot loads accessible. Market participants note that a substantial
volume of cream continues to move to Mexico. Most spot cream offerings are
reported to be directed toward Class II and Class III manufacturers. As a
result, butter makers in the region indicate limited spot cream is reaching
Class IV processors. Butter inventories remain mixed. Stocks of 80 percent
butterfat butter are reported as heavy, while 82 percent butterfat supplies are
comparatively tight. Grade AA butter is trading steady, around flat to the CME.
