Storm Moving Across North This Weekend First of Many

A stalled front will continue to produce scattered showers near the Gulf and East Coasts on Friday and through the weekend. But a system moving into the Canadian Prairies and Northern Plains is the first of many that will move across the northern tier of the U.S. and southern Canada not just this weekend but through early September as well. These systems, fronts, and disturbances that result are likely to produce areas of severe weather and heavy rain in the new month.
