A strong cold front is pushing through the country on Friday. Scattered showers and some thunderstorms are possible along it in an arc from the Central and Southern Plains through the Northeast throughout the day. Cold air continues to settle in behind this front, though most of the country has been protected from morning frost due to stronger winds and some cloud cover.
