Weekly U.S. Jobs Data Delayed by Government Shutdown

VIENNA (DTN) – Weekly employment data from the U.S. Department of Labor was delayed Thursday (11/13) despite the federal government resuming operations.

According to a note posted on the department’s website, “all Department of Labor agencies have resumed full operations as of Thursday, November 13”.

Despite that, the weekly jobless claims report due at 8.30 a.m. ET was not published.  The report was last published on September 25, before the lapse in appropriations on October 1.

The U.S. House of Representatives voted late Wednesday (11/12) to end the record-long 43-day federal government shutdown on a bill signed later by President Donald Trump.
