Dry Whey - West U.S.

Released on August 27, 2026

In the West, the price range for dry whey narrowed this week, with an increase
at the bottom of the range. The mostly price series held steady at the top and
increased at the bottom. Inventories of dry whey remain tight, and cheese
makers continue to operate strong production schedules. Demand for whey
continues to increase. Stakeholders report that sweet whey production is not
balanced with buyer interest, with more buyers than sellers currently in the
market. Production is mixed as some manufacturers focus on facility upgrades to
dryers to manufacture more lucrative whey protein concentrates and isolates.
