The market for dry buttermilk looks bullish in the West. The top of the dry 
buttermilk price range remains unchanged, while the bottom moved higher this 
week. Both ends of the mostly price series increased, and overall dry 
buttermilk prices are higher. Inventories are tight, and spot purchasers report 
that loads are difficult to find. Demand for dry buttermilk continues to 
strengthen as purchasers buy in anticipation of increased holiday baking. Some 
contacts note they are still behind on deliveries. Plant managers report they 
expect conditions to remain tight through September.
