South America's whole milk powder trade continues to trend upward, led by 
strong performance from key exporting countries. Argentina's WMP exports 
advanced 38.3% in Jan-Jul 2026, reflecting sustained recovery in product 
availability. Uruguay also posted year-over-year gains, with WMP shipments up 
13.5% through May, while Chile strengthened its position as a net supplier as 
Jan-Jun exports rose 28.7%. On the demand side, Brazil remains a critical 
outlet for regional supply, with WMP imports climbing 20.5% in Jan-Jul as 
buyers continue to absorb additional volumes. Market contacts add that recently 
enacted state-level measures in Brazil restricting reconstitution of imported 
powder may temper future import growth, but current trade flows remain firm.
