Fluid Milk And Cream - East U.S.

Released on June 11, 2025

East region milk production is stronger than expected this time of year.
According to contacts, milk output is high, providing ample milk for
manufacturing. Milk components are also unseasonably higher than anticipated.
Grain and feed prices are lower this year. Dairy farms are taking advantage of
the lower prices to purchase higher quality feed for their herds, leading to
higher component levels. Class I milk for bottling is slow, holding to summer
trends of low fluid milk production. Class II production is steadily
increasing. Facilities are increasing the amount of dairy mix production to
account for increased summer demand. Spot loads of cream are available for
purchase for frozen dairy mixes. Milk for Class III production is strong.
Retail demand for cheese remains high. Spot loads of milk for cheese are
readily available. Cream use is steady to strong. Contacts relayed spot sales
of cream for a variety of products this week. All Classes cream multiples
remained the same this week with prices holding steady. Class II multiples have
a slight increase on the bottom end of the range. Condensed skim volumes are
"really heavy". Sales of condensed skim are steady, with most sales going below
Class price.
