Compared to last week: Slaughter steers and heifers steady to firm. Good
demand for this nice offering of longtime fed, high quality grading steers and
heifers. The market was moderately active, in spite of the volatility seen in
the futures contracts, fat steers and heifers were easy to sell at the auction.
3 full loads of steers, 6 full loads of heifers, balance part loads and stock
trailer loads. Quite a few overnight cattle, weighing condition ranged from
fair to full.
Slaughter lambs steady to 5.00 lower. Slaughter ewes 5.00 lower. Good demand
for all weights of slaughter lambs. Moderate demand for ewes. Few light
fleshed lambs suitable for feeding.
