Compared to last week: Slaughter steers and heifers steady to 2.00 higher.
Good demand for this light offering of steers and heifers. Market ready
supplies of steers and heifers is limited, currently, across the region,
creating a good active market at the auction. Boxed beef values gained 4.00 to
5.27 this morning, helping to support the fat cattle market. CME Live Cattle
futures posted good gains as well. 1 full load of heifers, balance part loads
and stock trailer loads of steers and heifers.
Slaughter lambs 5.00 to 20.00 higher. Feeder lambs sold with higher
undertones. Slaughter ewes 10.00 to 20.00 higher. The market was very active
for slaughter lambs and ewes, active as well for a nice offering of light
fleshed feeder lambs.
