Compared to last week: Slaughter steers and heifers steady to 4.00 higher.
Very good demand for this seasonal offering of steers and heifers. Just 1 full
load of steers, with the balance being stock trailer loads. The market was
active after last week saw another new all-time high in the direct cash fed
cattle market. Boxed beef values have risen to just under 360.00, helping to
support the market. Supplies of market ready cattle continue to be tight.
Non-traditional weight slaughter lambs 5.00 to 15.00 lower, traditional
slaughter weight lambs 10.00 to 15.00 higher. Moderate to good demand for
non-traditional slaughter lambs, very good demand for traditional weights.
Slaughter ewes steady to 5.00 lower. Moderate to good demand for feeder lambs.
