FEEDER CATTLE 3237 5597 1321
Compared to last week: Feeder steers 800-1000 lbs 2.00 to 8.00 higher, feeder
heifers over 700 lbs steady to 5.00 higher. Good to very good demand for this
large offering of steers heifers, many long strings including 1 string of 845
steers and heifers. Many full loads, including multiple load lots throughout
the sale. Quality was a little uneven this week, flesh condition was mostly
moderate to heavy at times. Fleshy cattle are becoming harder to sell as
breakeven prices have become very high. The market was active as cattle
feeders want to get their empty pens full, when they have a chance to buy full
loads. Cattle futures closed lower, after being higher for most of the sale.
