Compared to last week: Not enough comparable sales on steers or heifers for a
market trend but a lower undertone was noted following the volatility observed
on the CME board the past two days. Trading activity and demand were both
moderate. Quality was mixed. Slaughter cows and bulls were too lightly tested
last week for a market trend, but a sharply higher undertone was noted.
Replacement cattle softened up some this week following ongoing drought
conditions in the panhandle.
