Western Video Market's Little America Sale in Cheyenne, WY.
No recent price comparison for deliveries of feeder cattle and calves,
however a sharply higher undertone was noted for all classes.
Fall Feeder Cattle futures were 15.00 to 16.00 higher than the last
sale (Silver Legacy in Reno).
Bulk of the feeder cattle were for September through October delivery,
with calf deliveries from October through November.
Weaned cattle sold on good to very good demand for all delivery points.
Cattle prices have risen significantly this summer and ranchers want
to take advantage of the higher prices while they are available to them.
Record fed cattle prices from a couple weeks ago have been driving cattle
buyers to be aggressive to fill pens as they come available in the coming
months.
Supply included 81 percent North Central; 13 percent from the West region;
6 percent from South Central.
Deliveries are current through January 2026.
Current delivery is 14 days from the last day of the sale and is up to
and including August 25th, 2025.
Supply included: 100% Feeder Cattle (69% Steers, 25% Heifers, 3% Beef/Dairy
Steers, 3% Beef/Dairy Heifers).
0% Replacement Cattle (100% Bred Cows).
Feeder cattle over 600 lbs was 71%.
Feeder Cattle prices FOB based on net weights after a 0-3% pencil shrink
or equivalent, with a 10-28 cent slide > 600 lbs and 18-40 cent slide
