Compared to last week, feeder steers and heifers sold 20.00-30.00 lower. Steer
and heifer calves sold 40.00-60.00 lower. Demand was light on a light supply.
The largest draft of the day was 93 head of 727 lb. mixed steers which sold for
340.00/cwt. The CME Feeder Cattle Futures continued to see double digit losses
on Tuesday. Despite the fundamentals of supply and demand being positive and
Boxed Beef prices continuing to rise, tweets and social media comments have put
fear into those who invest in the long side of the market. Supply was very
light as those who stayed current on the market trends, and were able to hold
off selling, did so.
