In the West, dry whey prices are 3.75 cents higher at the bottom end and 0.50 
cents lower at the top end of the range. Prices are higher for the bottom end 
and lower for the top end of the mostly price series as well. Domestic demand 
is steady. Demand from international buyers is stronger. Spot load availability 
is tight, especially for brand preferred dry whey loads. Stakeholders convey a 
few producers are behind on orders. Although some parts of the cheese 
production process are lighter this holiday week, liquid whey volumes continue 
to be at hand to utilize. Manufacturers report mostly steady production 
schedules.
