Dry Whey - West U.S.

Released on September 24, 2026

The tone in the West for dry whey is tepid, with both the price range and the
mostly range holding steady week over week. This contrasts with the CME, which
showed a modest weekly increase of 0.025 compared to the previous week's
average. The lack of movement in the reported price range and mostly range is
due to limited sales in the Western region during week 39, reflecting the
sluggish demand for dry whey.
Market growth continues to center on manufacturing other whey derivatives and
above to meet domestic and international demand. Contacts report that dry whey
production has declined, and the few manufacturers still offering dry whey
expect prices to rise to keep production viable as supply and demand move
toward balance.

Prices for: West, All First Sales, F.O.B., Extra & Grade A, Edible Dry Whey
Price Range - Non-Hygroscopic; Dollars per Pound: 0.65 - 0.76
