Dry Buttermilk - West U.S.

Released on May 21, 2026

Dry buttermilk prices increased three cents at the bottom and decreased one
cent at the top of the range in the West this week. The top of the mostly price
series decreased one cent as well. Domestic demand varies from steady to
lighter. Demand from international buyers is steady. Butter churns continue to
work through seasonally higher cream production, making plenty of liquid
buttermilk. However, production schedules are mixed. Some manufacturers report
production schedules are light as drier time is primary being allocated to
nonfat dry milk production, while others report dry buttermilk production
schedules are steady. Spot load availability is tighter.
