Butter - West U.S.

Released on June 04, 2025

Cream volumes are seasonally decreasing. However, butter makers indicate cream
volumes continue to be sufficient for both butter producers and ice cream
manufacturers. Bottom end cream multiples are slightly lower as of report time,
but remain above flat market. New butter manufacturing capacity in the region
is set to begin start up runs. Butter production schedules vary from steady to
strong. A few butter production managers indicate churning at certain
facilities is heavily focused on butter supplies for accommodating
international buyers. Domestic demand is steady. Export demand varies from
strong to somewhat lighter. Domestic prices continue to be competitive against
international prices.
