Butter makers continue to receive their contractual cream volumes in the West. 
Spot loads of cream are generally available. Demand is mixed. Most butter 
production facilities are running churns at or close to capacities. A few 
production managers note improperly working butter production equipment is 
holding back some building of inventories, but 80 percent butterfat butter 
loads are readily available. Domestic butter demand varies from lighter to 
steady. Butter manufacturers note demand from international buyers is strong, 
while traders indicate mixed export demand. In either case, 82 percent 
butterfat butter spot loads are tight.
