Compared to last week, slaughter cows and bulls were steady to 2.00 lower.
Demand was good on a moderate supply. Rain across most of the region this week
helped slow down the flow of cows to the market, in hopes that there will be
some fall growth in the pastures. Most areas didn't receive pond filling type
rains but the change in weather pattern is keeping everyone optimistic. The top
slaughter bull this week brought 208.00/cwt. and the top slaughter cow brought
171.00/cwt. The quality of the replacements in the offering was less than last
week with the top bred cow bringing 3700.00/head and the top pair bringing
3800.00/pair.
