Compared to last week, slaughter cows and bulls were 2.00-4.00 higher. Demand
was good on a moderate supply. The top slaughter bull sold for 246.00/cwt. and
the top slaughter cow sold for 199.00/cwt. There were several high quality
replacement cattle in the offering with the top pair selling for 5500.00/pair
and the top bred cow selling for 3900.00/head. Much of the hay in the area has
been harvested and pasture conditions are better than usual for the middle of
July.
