REPLACEMENT CATTLE 464 375 315
Compared to the last sale three weeks ago, slaughter cows and bulls sold
3.00-5.00 higher. Demand was good on a heavy supply of slaughter animals and a
moderate supply of replacement cattle. Following the holiday break the
slaughter market took up where it left off with the top slaughter bull selling
for 214.00/cwt. and the top slaughter cow selling for 178.00/cwt. Replacement
cattle continue to see good demand as the weather has been mild so far this
winter. The top pair sold for 4700.00 and the top bred cows sold for
3450.00/head.
