Compared to last sale: Not enough current FOB trades to establish a trend 
but a lower undertone was noted.
Demand has softened across all classes of cattle.
Feeder demand has weaken on Choice boxed beef values declining 50.00 
since September 1st.
Northern fat cattle trade has slipped to a discount compared to the southern 
regions, with prices falling from 245.00 five weeks ago to 228.00-230.00 this 
week.
Dressed sales have also moved lower, down from 380.00 to 360.00.
Calf demand has decline under heavy supply of unweaned calves, while 
the cool October mornings serve as a reminder that tough times are just around 
the corner for starting calves.
Farmers remain focused on wheat planting and weather conditions, keeping 
their attention on the fields rather than on buying calves currently.
Supply included 72 percent South Central; 1 percent West; 8 percent North 
Central; 13 percent South East; and 5 percent North East.
Deliveries are current through May 2026.
Current delivery is 14 days from the last day of the sale and is up to 
and including October 16th, 2025.
 
Supply included: 99% Feeder Cattle (36% Steers, 23% Heifers, 22% Beef/Dairy 
Steers, 18% Beef/Dairy Heifers).
1% Replacement Cattle (19% Bred Cows, 81% Bred Heifers).
Feeder cattle over 600 lbs was 65%.
Feeder Cattle prices FOB based on net weights after a 2-3% pencil shrink 
or equivalent, with a 8-25 cent slide > 600 lbs and 10-35 cent slide
