lower.
Not enough current FOB trades on heifers to establish a trend.
Demand good for bigger steers and moderate for heifers and calves.
After last week's sharp sell-off in cattle futures, the roller coaster
ride continued this week as futures rebounded nicely yesterday before trading
back into the red today, leaving buyers and producers questioning when the
volatility will finally ease.
Negotiated cash trade has pulled back slightly from the record highs
seen a couple of weeks ago, but continues to hold strong at mostly 260.
Supply included 58 percent South Central; 26 percent Southeast; 5 percent
from the West; 5 percent North Central; and 6 percent from the North East
region.
Deliveries are current through December 2026.
Current delivery is 14 days from the last day of the video and is up
to and including June 11, 2026.
Supply included: 100% Feeder Cattle (51% Steers, 3% Dairy Steers, 33%
Heifers, 8% Beef/Dairy Steers, 6% Beef/Dairy Heifers).
0% Replacement Cattle (52% Bred Cows, 48% Bred Heifers).
Feeder cattle over 600 lbs was 58%.
Feeder Cattle prices FOB based on net weights after a 2-3% pencil shrink
or equivalent, with up to a 40 cent slide > 600 lbs and up to a 40 cent slide
