Whole Milk Powder - South America

Released on September 10, 2026

South American whole milk powder (WMP) markets are stable. Argentina's WMP
production increased 12.5 percent during January-July, while end-of-July stocks
declined 20.2 percent from a year earlier. Argentina continues to operate as a
net exporter. Brazilian purchasing is steady, with year-to-date imports about
25 percent higher than a year ago, indicating stronger demand, and contacts
report some fourth-quarter needs remain uncovered. Algeria is active, with
larger buyers issuing Requests for Quotation (RFQs) for October-forward
shipments, and more activity is expected. Supply for prompt shipment is
available and production is running at healthy levels, leaving the market well
balanced. Contacts note that WMP offers are generally sitting in the USD
3,700-3,750/mt FOB range.
