SLAUGHTER CATTLE 47 72 92
Compared to last Saturday the feeder market was mostly stronger with a good
quality offering. Light weight feeder steers 350 lbs and under were sharply
higher with strong demand, while the 400-500 lbs steers were 2.00 to 4.00 lower
but with a limited supply. The 500-700 lbs steers were 2.00 to 4.00 higher
with a good supply and the yearling steers were steady to 2.00 higher, but with
limited comparisons. Feeder heifers 450 lbs and under were sharply higher with
a good supply and heifers 500 lbs and over were steady to 2.00 higher with
good demand. Buyers were selective but active today and willing to pay
premiums for weaned or harder conditioned feeders. Slaughter cows were mostly
steady to 2.00 higher in spots with a good supply and slaughter bulls were
steady to 4.00 higher for higher yielding bulls with a good supply and good
demand.
