Compared to last Saturday the feeder market was uneven and mostly lower with an
average quality offering. Feeder steers were mostly 3.00 to 6.00 lower or
greater in spots with moderate demand, however the 400-500 lbs steers were 6.00
to 8.00 higher with good demand. Feeder heifers were uneven as well most of
the weight classes 2.00 to 8.00 lower and the only gains the 400-525 lbs
heifers who were 4.00 to 8.00 higher with good demand. Negative pressure from
the futures market this week, and increased conflict in the Middle East brought
uncertainty and a softer tone to the feeder market. Slaughter cows and bulls
were steady with a good supply and good demand.
