Compared to last week, feeder cattle receipts were higher, supported by
improved offerings of weaned calves and a modest uptick in cattle futures.
Feeder steers traded $15.00 to $20.00 higher, while feeder heifers, on a
lighter test, sold $5.00 to $10.00 higher. Demand was very strong for calves
weaned over 45 days, whereas demand was lighter for light-weight and unweaned
calves overall. Slaughter cattle traded steady to $5.00 lower on the week.
Attendance was good, with an increase in buyer attendance as well
