Compared to last week, steers and heifers sold steady to firm. Demand was good
for a moderate supply with some fancy groups of calves on hand. Cattle futures
closed sharply lower with several months locked limit down in anticipation of a
bearish Cattle On Feed report to come out Friday afternoon. Slaughter cows sold
1.00-3.00 lower.
