When looking back to the last tested auction from three weeks ago, feeder
steers and heifers traded with a lower undertone except for some light weight
calves under 450 lbs that sold near steady. The previous sale in June saw
feeders selling near all-time high prices, but since then the fat cattle have
lost 10.00 to 15.00 and the futures market has been on a down trend, bringing
some pressure to the cash feeders.
