FEEDER CATTLE 1278 0 1043
Compared to the last feeder auction from two weeks ago, feeder steers under
700 lbs sold steady to 5.00 higher with steers over 700 lbs steady on a light
test. Feeder heifers steady. A nice run of cattle for a May sale in the
middle of planting season, with several large strings in the offering. Quality
was attractive, although plenty of big calves still showing up carrying extra
flesh. An active market, especially for steers, and seemed to be unaffected by
the lower futures prices the past couple of days.
