FEEDER CATTLE 1277 9163 7067
Compared to last week: Steer calves over 500lbs. 3.00-5.00 higher, under
500lbs unevenly steady. Heifer calves 2.00-4.00 lower. Quality plain all the
way to attractive. Demand moderate to good. Plain cattle sold very well, no
trend to set on them but a stronger undertone noted. The strongest factor
influencing buyer demand continues to be long time weaned, with quality
remaining a secondary consideration. Buyers are prioritizing cattle that are
hard and well adapted, capable of withstanding the upcoming summer heat and
humidity without experiencing health setbacks.
