FEEDER CATTLE 10128 8162 6848
Compared to last sale: Feeder steers over 750lbs 10.00-15.00 higher, under
750lbs 15.00-20.00 higher. Feeder heifers over 750lbs steady to 5.00 higher,
under 750lbs 5.00-10.00 higher. Feeder demand good. Steer calves 25.00-35.00
higher, except 500-600lbs 8.00-16.00 higher. Heifer calves 15.00-25.00 higher.
Calf demand extremely good as multiple buyers bid on almost every draft. Early
in the calf sale, buyers were more selective; however, as the sale progressed,
buyers became more aggresive for unweaned and plainer type cattle. Dry
conditions and lower futures did not dampen buyer spirits. Some wheat
producers noted, despite the lack of moisture, wheat conditions continued to
look good. Rain is forecasted for Thursday across the trading area and would be
welcomed by everyone.
