Butter - East U.S.

Released on July 30, 2025

CME prices for Grade AA butter fell last week. The weekly average was $2.4565,
down over $0.08 from the previous week. In conjunction with the CME prices
dropping, cream multiples are comparatively high. Butter churns are not
operating at full capacity in the Northeast, as a result. Some contacts mention
selling cream to Class II and Class III producers rather than sending it to the
churns. Inventory levels of butter are healthy. There are some reported sales
of bulk butter selling at and below the CME price. Retail butter sales are
steady, on par with seasonal trends. International demand for U.S. butter is
slow.
