Butter - East U.S.

Released on June 18, 2025

Butter churns are operating seven days a week in the Northeast. Manufacturers
are able to keep up with production using only contract loads. The CME prices
for butter are trending up. The CME weekly average for last week rose slightly
from the previous week but the daily price closed three cents higher than the
average. Bulk butter is selling flat at the CME prices. Demand for bulk is
steady. Retail demand is still strong in the region. International demand for
butter remains strong. Last week's cold storage report showed a 5% increase in
butter holdings from the beginning of the month. Some discussions with contacts
confirm the inventory levels are healthy.
