In the East, cream for Class II and III use is taking priority over butter 
production. There were no reported spot purchases of cream for Class IV use in 
the region this week. Some butter facilities are taking in extra loads of milk 
from other facilities that have down time. Contacts say butter churns are 
operating seven days a week but not quite at full capacity. Retail butter 
demand is strong as spring holidays approach. Butter inventories are healthy 
and balanced with production.
