Butter - East U.S.

Released on March 11, 2026

Butter production in the Northeast remains seasonally strong. Butter makers are
taking advantage of ample amounts of cream to keep churns full and operating
seven days a week. Contacts are purchasing spot loads of cream to supplement
contracted loads of milk and cream. Cream multiples are rising as Class II and
III manufacturing is pulling cream supplies. Contacts do not indicate a
shortage of cream as the region has not yet hit the spring flush. Retail sales
and food service demand remain strong. Inventories are building to prepare for
the upcoming spring holiday season.
