Butter - East U.S.

Released on March 04, 2026

Butter production in the Northeast is currently strong, but some contacts
anticipate production schedules will dwindle in the coming weeks. As Spring
draws nearer, Class II and III manufacturers are expected to take more cream as
their production schedules increase. Currently, churns are operating seven days
a week. Some facilities are taking in spot loads of cream to keep the churns
full. Spot loads of cream are available but expected to get tighter. Retail and
food service demand for butter is good and sales are up. Inventories are
growing as the winter comes to a close.
