Nonfat Dry Milk - East and Central U.S.

Released on May 21, 2026

The price range for low/medium heat nonfat dry milk (NDM) shifted higher in the
Central and East regions this week. The mostly price series is unchanged. On
the daily CME cash call, NDM prices dropped to $2.0925 on Thursday, and are
down 18.25 cents from a week ago. Stakeholders attribute this decline to
softening demand and increasing spot availability in the West region. In the
Central and East regions, inventories remain tight and some contacts say they
continue to secure loads from the West to meet their immediate needs. Contacts
say some market participants are looking at CME futures which have more
favorable prices in the second half of the year, and are hesitant to secure
loads at current spot market rates. This is contributing to lighter demand in
domestic and international markets, but some contacts say demand from
purchasers in Mexico is relatively steady. Drying operations are running busy
schedules. Plant managers continue to prioritize low/medium heat NDM, limiting
high heat production. Demand for high heat NDM is steady, but contacts say spot
loads remain difficult to find. Prices increased for high heat NDM across the
range in the Central and East regions this week.
