Nonfat Dry Milk - East and Central U.S.

Released on April 30, 2026

The price range and mostly price series for low/medium heat nonfat dry milk
(NDM) shifted higher in the Central and East regions this week. Some contacts
suggest prices may be starting to plateau and note that nonfat dry milk prices
have held between $2.25 and $2.26 on the CME daily cash call, since last
Wednesday. Spot inventories remain very tight, and spot purchasers say it is
difficult to find loads in most of the country, though some note having some
success obtaining loads produced in the Southwest and in California. Spot
trades were lighter this week, contacts attribute this to tight inventories,
and a large industry event that many market participants were attending early
in the week. Domestic demand is light and contacts say purchasers are only
looking for loads that meet their immediate needs. Export demand is light
overall, but interest from purchasers in Mexico remains strong. Plant managers
are running busy drying schedules, outputting low/medium heat NDM as they are
trying to rebuild inventories and fulfill market demands. High heat NDM
production remains limited, and spot purchasers say it is difficult to find
spot loads in the Central and East regions. Prices increased this week, and
contacts say demand is unchanged.
