The spot market for dry whey gained some momentum post holidays in the East 
region. Contacts report a more active market for dry whey and whey derivatives. 
Despite the Extra Grade dry whey price dropping slightly on the CME this week, 
spot prices remain consistent. The bottom of the range rose a few cents, but 
the top is the same. Manufacturers continue to focus production on high protein 
concentrates, leaving very little inventory of dry whey for the spot market. 
Domestic and international demand of dry whey is steady.
