Casein - U.S.

Released on June 26, 2025

The price ranges for both acid and rennet casein held steady this week. In
Oceania, milk output is seasonally light, limiting acid casein production.
Plant managers in the region say most of their acid casein production is
intended to meet contractual obligations. Demand for acid casein is light in
Oceania, but contacts report strong international interest. Acid casein spot
inventories are light. Market participants say manufacturers are offering Q3
quarterly contract prices slightly below the current spot market. Milk output
typically increases later in Q3 which will contribute to increased acid casein
production and enable inventories to grow, say market participants. Rennet
casein demand is declining in Europe, but interest from purchasers in other
regions is strong. Acid casein production is declining, but contacts say spot
loads are available for purchase as demand and production are currently well
balanced.
