Casein - U.S.

Released on April 30, 2026

Acid casein prices are unchanged this week. Contract demand is strong and
contacts in Oceania say spot interest is steady within the region and from
purchasers in other regions. Spot loads are available, but inventories are not
excessive. Milk is available in Oceania, enabling manufacturers to run busy
acid casein production schedules, though plant managers say their output is
primarily geared towards fulfilling contractual obligations.

The bottom of the rennet casein price range is unchanged, while prices
increased at the top of the range. Some contacts suggest increasing spot prices
for skim milk powder are contributing to stronger demand and higher prices for
rennet casein. Contacts in Europe report strong demand within the region and
say interest from purchasers in other regions has increased in recent weeks.
Milk is available in Europe, enabling plant managers to run busy acid casein
production schedules. Spot loads are available, but purchasers say inventories
are tightening somewhat amid strong demand.
