Compared to last Wednesday the feeder market was lower with an average quality
offering. Good quality feeder steers and heifers were mostly 5.00 to 10.00
lower or greater in spots with a good supply and moderate demand, however the
500-550 lbs steers were steady with good supply. Recent declines in the
futures market has limited buyers interest and the premiums they are willing to
pay, while increasing the discounts on off colored and plainer quality cattle
severely. Slaughter cows were 3.00 to 5.00 lower and slaughter bulls were
steady with a good supply and moderate demand.
